The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is regarded as one of the most sacred pilgrimages for followers of Hinduism, Jainism, and Buddhism. It holds immense spiritual significance, as Mount Kailash is believed to be the abode of Lord Shiva, and Lake Mansarovar is considered a divine waterbody, revered for its purity and spiritual energy. Despite its deep religious value, this pilgrimage is also one of the most challenging spiritual journeys in Asia due to its high-altitude terrain, unpredictable weather, and demanding physical conditions.
Fortunately, modern infrastructure has made the pilgrimage more accessible. The Kailash Mansarovar overland tour provides a relatively easier and well-connected route, thanks to improved roadways and transport facilities in Tibet. This 14-day expedition is infused with adventure and devotion, beginning in Kathmandu, Nepal. From here, travelers embark on a rugged yet scenic drive to Keyrung, crossing the Nepalese border at Rasuwagadi, where official procedures take place before entering Tibet.
Once in Tibet, the journey unfolds across vast landscapes, revealing breathtaking views of snow-capped mountains, ancient monasteries, and the endless Tibetan plateau. The well-paved roads lead travelers towards the ethereal Lake Mansarovar, known for its crystal-clear waters and profound spiritual significance. Pilgrims often take a ritual dip in the lake, believing it cleanses one's soul and washes away sins. Beyond the lake, the revered Mount Kailash stands in all its grandeur, its towering peak symbolizing ultimate spiritual enlightenment. Many pilgrims undertake the arduous trek around the mountain, known as the "Kora," which is believed to bring divine blessings and the fulfillment of spiritual aspirations.
With a blend of devotion, adventure, and stunning natural beauty, the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra remains an unforgettable experience—one that tests the endurance of travelers while offering profound spiritual rewards in the heart of the Himalayas.

- Observe silence with smile.
- Never go too high and too fast.
- Consume plenty of liquids; never proceed with an empty stomach.
- Chant a prayer or visualize everything around to suit your pleasant thoughts or put on the earphones and listen to your favourite music, bhajans, chanting etc.
- Be careful not to catch a cold. It is better to be over clothed than under protected. En-route avoids taking bath or drinking water from Lake Streams or rivers, as your system is not conditioned for this.
- Keep your boots/Ked inside tent. Protect yourself against dust and direct sunshine during the long stretches of driving. Face, feet and hands must be well protected.
- The uneven ground, steep slope and slushy banks are full of potholes. Do not combine walking and sight seeing together.
- Always listen to your guide or the one with experience. Never leave the group.
- On this trip, over exertion is to be avoided and drinking plenty of fluids is recommendable. During winter, heavy warm clothing is a must.
Physical Fitness
- Kindly consult your doctor and get yourself examined for this yatra
